Chowkidar
This is a story of feudalism in it's raw state. The tonga and a certain simplicity of the village folk is exploited by the Jagirdar and his cohorts. Until the Chowkidar and a doctor -the only son of the money-lender- who initially obtains goodwill by curing people, and providing financial assistance for recovery want to start a change. The influence of the Jagirdar, incites the villagers and his thugs frame the Chowkidar, the doctor and threaten the well being of two women. Throught the film the Jagirdar deals with the sins of his father, will he be able to be a man, and acknowledge the crime of his father?
