Mattie Bayne
Mattie is a filmmaker, playwright, and comedian from Baltimore, Maryland. Mattie grew up with a single mom, attended an all-girls school, and is an ovarian cancer survivor.
Mattie currently works as the showrunner’s assistant to Kourtney Kang on the Disney+ show, ‘Doogie Kameāloha, M.D.’ Previously, Mattie worked in the Motion Picture Literature department at the United Talent Agency. Mattie recently completed her half-hour comedy pilot titled, "OVERACHIEVERS" which follows an over competitive student government at an all-girls school. She is looking to produce her full-length play titled, “No, Love Me”, which was recently featured in The Blank Theater's Living Room Series. Mattie is a recent recipient of a BFA in Film and Television Production from the University of Southern California, School of Cinematic Arts. Mattie and her team were selected to make a USC Senior Thesis Film titled “Practice Funeral.” The film follows the journey of a young man diagnosed with terminal testicular cancer as he throws his funeral, much to the disapproval of his mother. The film means a lot to Mattie as she was finally given the creative space to explore how it feels to be a young person with a terminal illness. "Practice Funeral" debuted at the Los Angeles Short Film and Script Festival and featured in the Beverly Hills Film Festival.
