Misrah Fatima Nizami

Misrah Fatima Nizami is a Pakistani indie filmmaker with a degree in Communication Design: Media from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture. She currently works at SOC Films, led by two-time Academy Award winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, where she collaborates with BAFTA and Emmy-nominated producers. She has worked on an investigative docu-series called, “The Facets Of Hate Speech.” as a Post Producer and a Research Associate. She is currently working on developing "Pakistan's Music Vault", a comprehensive digital archive to preserve Pakistan's musical heritage and engage global audiences. In collaboration with Google Arts & Culture and the British Council Pakistan. Her passion for filmmaking has led her to develop a versatile skill set that includes direction, scriptwriting, storytelling, production, creative direction, editing, and cinematography, covering both still and moving images. Misrah has directed, written, produced, and edited several films that have earned recognition at international film festivals. Her most notable work is her 2023 thesis film, "CINERAMA." Actively involved in writing and researching independent film projects, she also owns an independent production company, Mehfil Films, which she plans to use for future film endeavors. She continues to explore cinema in all its forms, focusing on projects that are stylish, unique, and heartfelt.
